Our Mission
To ensure every child born with Spina Bifida and hydrocephalus in Uganda survives, thrieves, and belongs - through healthcare, education, and family empowerment rooted in community.

Meet Matthew

Founding Story

When Matthew was born on that warm June morning in 2023, our world shifted in ways we never could have anticipated. The doctors spoke in medical terms we struggled to understand: spina bifida, hydrocephalus, neural tube defects. But behind those clinical words lay a simple, heartbreaking truth, that our son would join the ranks of Uganda’s invisible children, those born with conditions that seem to make them disappear from society’s radar. We could not help but wonder: Where do all these children disappear to?
What followed revealed a system gap we could not ignore: after life-saving surgery, families were sent home without guidance, support, or a pathway forward. St. Matthew was created to fill that gap so no family has to navigate it alone.
